Segregation of society does not serve the country well

Thomas Wellock’s column (July 2) has been gnawing at me since I have read it. He refers to Bill Bishop’s new book “The Big Sort” which gives evidence of the growing trend of Americans choosing to live near others who agree with them on the basis of values and ideology.
