Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

As the Director of Data Services you will be expected to direct and manage the activities necessitated to provide and enhance the Oracle Technology Infrastructure Design and Implementation for Reunion.com, These technologies include Database maintenance and availability, architecture, data modeling, implementation and tuning of existing and future requirements for both large online transaction processing (OLTP) systems and large data warehousing (OLAP) systems. Additional activities may include introduction of Collaborative products, RAC (High Availability) and DR as well as project management administration of Oracle RDBMS on UNIX and Linux platforms as well as MS SQL Server, Postgres and MySql on their respective platforms. Other responsibilities for this position include, managing, maintaining and providing guidance for problem resolution of the production, development and test databases that support our mission-critical applications. You will provide input to the technical design, development and proactive maintenance of databases and the associated files to ensure accessibility, security and integrity of company data.

Our Environment:

Reunion.com is one of the fastest growing companies in the internet space today. The Company has been profitable since it’s inception. Reunion uses a wide variety of technologies and has a twice weekly release cycle to update and enhance.

Application uses Java 5 and 6 on Tomcat web server and C++. Frameworks used include Spring and Struts. Velocity is used for Front end. Reunion also has complex Data infrastructure running on Oracle 10g, MySQL and Microsoft SQL server that handles multiple terrabytes of data.

Reunion has a very robust custom built People Search caching environment that uses Web services and SOAP based XML messaging protocol. Infrastructure also includes a wide variety of operating systems including Solaris, Linux and Windows.

Expert understanding of Oracle database administration best practices (e.g., schema management, index optimization).
Advanced skills include Oracle Database architecture, data modeling, implementation and tuning, Oracle Collaborative products, Project Management and Oracle Database Administration.

Working knowledge of performance tuning tools & concepts required (TKPROF, AWR, STATSPACK, Explain Plan, OEM)
Experience and understanding of Oracle advanced features such as RMAN, Data Guard, partitioning, replication, and parallel processing is a plus.
Should have a good foundation and understanding of databases, data patterns, structures and production database administration on Linux and Solaris platforms

Responsible for phase-gating and phase exit reviews for all project management methodologies, and associated monitoring systems ensuring the accurate, timely, cost-effective execution and delivery of all technical programs in accordance with business requirements, marketing & sales goals and objectives, best practices and procedures.

This individual will partner daily with both the Director of PMO, the CTO and other technical leads to pro-actively monitor programs, recommend approval of engagements based on risk analysis and application of best practices and assist in the project manager hiring process. Build strong collaborative relationships with business partners and internal client, such as sales, marketing and exec management to help improve systems, process, and operational standards; help communicate changes and updates to project managers.

As the lead tactical representative of the Reunion Project Management Office (PMO), this individual will be able to define, manage and deliver both new initiatives and expand growth of existing, mature programs and projects. The Senior Project Manager should:
