Product Design Engineer

This is an engineering position expected to be an integral part of a Li-ion battery R&D team. His/her goal is to develop lithium-ion systems, with a focus on the mechanical, structural and thermal aspects of cell and battery design.

Responsibilities

To design lithium-ion cells and batteries based on the Mobius Power chemistry advantage.
Responsible for leading the design, modeling, and materials selection and compatibility in lithium-ion rechargeable electrochemical systems.
Ensure cells and batteries are developed in a holistic system approach and conform to application requirements and industrial standards. Involvement begins in the initial modeling and design phase and continues through testing and customer implementation.
Responsible for all mechanical, structural and thermal aspects of the design. Utilize Solid Works and COSMOS to better understand cell and battery designs early in the process resulting in more thorough product design and faster time-to-market.
Prepare complete engineering drawing package for products.
Responsible for material selection and compatibility.
Design tests and analyze results to validate concepts.
Plan and troubleshoot prototyping and technology transfer to production environment.
Interaction with R&D and manufacturing teams in North America and Asia.
To work closely with the cell testing and evaluation part of the R&D, providing the team with timely and reliable designs and prototypes for test.
To work closely with other engineers to assist other parts of the R&D, such as research, manufacturing process, and quality control.
The responsibilities will be split approximately between both Design and Modeling.
Follow rigorous documentation practices and record all work including modeling and designs, tests, test protocols, experiments and results in laboratory notebooks.

Qualifications

7 or more years experience in Li-ion battery R&D environment with Li-ion cell and battery design as one of the responsibilities.
Expert in Li-ion cell design. Capable of using electrochemical and physical models to predict cell performance.

Must have broad understanding of Li-ion cell science and demonstrated deep understanding of the impact of materials and components on cell performance and safety

Responsibilities

To build and maintain a highly capable Li-ion battery testing facility commensurate with our overall commercialization goals and timing. Facility should include testers, various analyzers, environmental controls, testing protocols, testing software, database etc.
To lead and be responsible for cell testing and evaluation part of the R&D, providing the team with timely, reliable, and insightful data and analysis.
To design and implement tests per industry standards and customer requirements
Establish and responsible for QA process for products sampling and shipping to customers.
Able to recognize and satisfy the different needs of internal R&D and external customers in terms of the type of tests and data.
Work closely with other engineers to assist other parts of the R&D, such as cell design, manufacturing process, and quality control. Provide insights through cell tests to the team to make sure the cell is developed in a holistic system approach and conforms to application requirements and industrial standards.
Daily responsibilities include coordinating and running cell tests; implement test protocols, prepare data for internal and external customers.
He/she will also manage test equipment procurement, installation and maintenance.

Requirements:

This is a staff position working within a dynamic team of Operation staff and engineers. The main job function is to conduct management control of all chemical materials used in Li-ion rechargeable battery R&D activities and pilot line production.

Daily responsibilities include material specification defining and selection with R&D engineers, materials vendor/supplier searching and identification, materials procurement and logistics control, incoming materials quality inspection.
Material inventory management, such as material usage and fulfillment, materials safety control, following rigorous documentation practice, regulations and MSDS.
Hazardous waste materials safety control (storage, handling and disposition)

Qualifications:

B.S. degree preferred in an area of chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science and engineering
2+ year working experience in chemistry or chemical engineering laboratory environment, or materials procurement and incoming material QA.

Good communication skill with demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team and with material suppliers.

Daily responsibilities include processing battery materials, and preparing electrodes or electrolytes based on standard operating procedures
Independently carry out routine experiments, and assist senior technical staff to design and carry out advanced experiments

Follows rigorous documentation practice and record all designs, experiments, results in notebooks

Qualifications:

Senior Marketing Manager

Qualifications:

Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures with respect to internet retail marketing and the technology industry
Solid understanding of brand strategy and its relationship to the overall customer experience
Strong writing skills for editing newsletters, web content, marketing collateral, and various promotional materials
Proven track record with driving web site traffic and experience with a variety of consumer-oriented marketing channels (direct mail, print advertising, etc.
Robust analytical abilities and experience with interpreting large amounts of customer and financial data
Experience with managing partner-driven promotional relationships and/or CPA programs
