The Elephant in the Room: Why would a great developer want a QA role? It’s a great question. Maybe we’ve smoked one too many banana peels, but we are working with such a unique product we feel there there are people that want to (or already do) spend time with BUG type stuff and want to make BUG a quality product that they can personally own and be proud of. You will encounter new problems everyday, you will be hacking, you will be working closely (less than 10 feet) with our development team, and we have a very fun, flexible and rewarding work atmosphere.

Some Responsibilities you will have:

Develop and execute testing for a Linux computer (you have a deep familiarity with an open source Linux distribution)
Test Operating Systems (familiarity with Open Embedded Linux distributions, Open Embedded, Buildroot, Scratchbox….)
Test API’s and drivers at a low level as well as at functional and user levels
Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to develop a comprehensive set of tests for our web-based application
Work with users to reproduce defects and log proper defect reports, collaborate with engineers to validate and get ‘em fixed
Assist product and engineering teams to define requirements
Run manual test scripts, develop and maintain automated testing scripts, and find and use open source test automation software
Analyze failed tests and manage defects using the bug reporting tool
Perform extensive functional, integration, security and UI testing
Work with open source communities and external individuals to identify and classify external defects

Your Skills and Background:

3 or more years as a Developer and/or a Test Automation Engineer, with 1 or more years testing hardware
While we have a small and independent team who can handle it, you must have some experience working in a Quality Assurance role and with testing database driven web applications
Proven contribution to any Open Source projects is a HUGE plus
Experience planning and implementing robustness and hardware reliability testing
Solid experience writing test cases and test plans
Experience with open-source testing tools
You have a Bachelor of Science Engineering or related degree
Proven ability to plan and implement reliability activities from product concept throughout the product life cycle
