Overall Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Senior System Administrator level expertise with UNIX and/or Linux operating systems and solid knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, applications, and networking.
- Must have hands-on practical information security experience in a large organization, with a thorough understanding of information security fundamentals.
- Must have extensive experience working with fully redundant SAN arrays such as EMC (preferred), Hitachi, Fujitsu, HP, IBM etc along with all related equipment/software (SAN switches, HBA’s, multipath, powerpath etc)
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey technical information to all levels of technical expertise.
- Strong Team Player. A collaborative work ethic is necessary for success in this team.
- In depth knowledge and understanding of multi-tiered infrastructures.
- Experience with automatic deployments, upgrades and management of proprietary Java code.
- Previous experience hardening operating systems and/or securing applications.
- Solid shell and/or PERL scripting expertise.
- Strong knowledge of IP networking, and common Internet technologies (DNS, SMTP, SSH, etc.).
- Must be familiar with technical security/penetration testing, including:
- Attack techniques
- Countermeasures
- Experience using information security and “hacking” tools
- Common malware and their workings
- IDS event monitoring/analysis, and/or incident response experience
- Must be able to work with a cool head under pressure and make targeted decisions necessary to properly respond to rapidly unfolding events. Must be capable and comfortable adopting various incident response roles (i.e. leading, coordinating, and performing hands on incident response work).
- 7+ years Senior System Administrator experience with UNIX and/or Linux operating systems
- College degree in a technical/scientific discipline or equivalent experience
