The Centive Engineering Team is seeking a top-notch experienced Oracle developer to join a strong Engineering team building a comprehensive, hosted sales performance solution. This is a medium to senior level position that encompasses design and hands-on implementation. Activities
- Develop engineering specifications, design, and implement new product capabilities through database structures, database-resident code, and interface code to a J2EE application suite.
- Innovate within the database-related layers of the Compel product environment to optimize performance and enhance functionality.
- Work closely and collaboratively with other Engineering and Product Management team members.
- Participate in technical reviews.
- Develop custom database extracts (queries) on an interim basis and then include the requests into the base product.
- Automation of recurring production support requests.
- Work with the internal engineering and product teams to deliver key database expertise and highly responsive internal support.
Desirable Qualifications:
- 7 years in software development, with at least 4 years experience as database development engineer (preferably with Oracle)
- Strong Oracle PL/SQL and SQL design and programming capability (9i and/or 10g)
- Experience in both transaction-processing and data warehousing arenas
- Good background relating database and non-database software components of applications
- Great communication and collaboration skills, with strong capability in business analysis, design, and specification writing.
- A can-do attitude with understanding of what it means to deliver enterprise class, scalable, and product quality Oracle implementations
- Demonstrated experience in large-scale data-modeling, including using Database Modeling tools such as ERwin or ER/Studio
- Experience with Oracle on 64-bit Red Hat Linux is a plus
- Experience using ETL, data cleansing, and BI tools.
- Experience with web/application servers particularly BEA Weblogic.
- Familiarity with Production DBA concepts (although the focus is almost exclusively development-oriented).
- Experience in developing or supporting applications in a distributed object-oriented environment (e.g. J2EE).
- High motivation, creativity, and experience to help us to continue to make Compel a state-of-the-art “Software as a Service” web-based product.
