We are looking for a college or post-graduate student to intern with us 10 hours a week during the school term (exact hours can to be determined on a case by case basis). Must be NYC-based and able to work out of the Etsy offices at 325 Gold St 6th fl, Brooklyn.
The Storque is Etsy’s blog, geared towards readers interested in the culture of indie artists and handmade style, as well as for members who need site news and how-to’s. http://www.etsy.com/storque
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Proof-read, edit for content and style, layout graphics and improve posts
- Conduct outreach with Storque and Marketing Team to syndicate content to like-minded blogs and websites
- Target good pitches from the Etsy community
- Contribute original writing and style and culture posts
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in online or print editorial, copy-editing, writing, researching and reporting (preferably fashion, culture)
- Experience with photo editing (for print, film, stock photos, etc)
- Photoshop
- Basic html, blogging software knowledge
- Strong communication skills in dealing with customers, online communities, interview subjects, as well as coworkers
- Merchandising or styling experience (great taste a plus!)
- Self-motivated
- Detail-oriented in doing the best job possible
- Passionate about blogging and new media content
- Career goals at the intersection of editorial, new media, online communities, art and subcultures
- Adaptable to a crazy start-up environment
- A curious mind (especially in regards to DIY, fashion, entrepreneurship; and other publications)
