Director, International Business Development

Etsy.com is an online marketplace for buying and selling all things handmade. We are seeking a full time Director of International Business Development to identify and execute expansion opportunities outside the USA for Etsy.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

You will work closely with the CEO and the executive team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •      Identify and prioritize international markets for entry
  •      Devise and evaluate entry strategies market by market
  •      Prepare financial valuations and/or work with external resources to construct necessary financial models
  •      Develop acquisition integration plans and manage first stages of plan execution
  •      Negotiate license and partnership opportunities
  •      Advise company management on emerging trends, industry changes, competitive landscape and any viable opportunities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  •      MBA required
  •      7+ years of related experience (4+ years post-MBA) in strategic consulting and/or corporate strategy.
  •      Must have international product launch experience, preferably in E-Commerce
  •      Ability to analyze international markets and develop a plan as to which markets to enter based on individual market scenarios
  •      Analytical skills coupled with financial understanding including the ability to assimilate large amounts of information, analyze data, summarize and develop appropriate strategic recommendations.
  •      Ability to create, interpret and implement market research, analyses, new product planning, product marketing and launch experience.
  •      Ability to manage multiple projects and external vendor relationships.
  •      Adept at translating strategic initiatives into actionable steps.
  •      Experience leading cross-functional teams.
  •      50% travel
