Reporting to the Director of Product & Trade Marketing and working closely with other members of the Howcast team, you will support Howcast’s online marketing strategy through the development, implementation and analysis of online marketing programs to drive traffic to Howcast.com. Specifically, you will:
Brainstorm and Shape
- Novel ways to introduce Howcast to consumers using both emerging digital marketing approaches leveraging search engine optimization and marketing, social, viral/word-of-mouth, and mobile marketing techniques as well as more ‘real-world’, ‘guerrilla’ and traditional outreach marketing techniques — anything to reach niche audiences with relevant, targeted messaging
Plan, Deploy, Manage and Track
- Numerous, simultaneous cross-channel (SEO, social media, traditional outreach, etc.) online marketing campaigns to introduce niche audiences to relevant how-to videos and guides on Howcast.com
- Day-to-day campaign calendar coordinating all outward-bound marketing campaigns
Research and Investigate
- Trends and new approaches in search engine and social media optimization and marketing
- Consumer trends in online video, social media and instructional content
- Emerging business opportunities and potential partners in advertising, distribution, and video production
Requirements
- College Bachelor’s Degree (Business Administration, Marketing or Communications focus a plus)
- Experience with search engine and social media optimization and marketing
- Passion for online experiences (particularly video and social experience) and/or cutting-edge yet straightforward marketing methods (think Cluetrain.org)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment requiring you to work with agility across teams and time zones (our other office is in San Francisco)
- 2-3 years of online marketing experience; online product marketing experience a plus
- Demonstrated ability to develop and successfully execute creative, strategic consumer campaigns
- Experience marketing a large collection of distinct pieces of content
