Genocea Biosciences was founded in 2006 to commercialize key breakthroughs in vaccine discovery and development. When they work, vaccines are one of the most effective ways of preventing and treating disease. Unfortunately, many research and clinical vaccine programs are hit-and-miss because there is currently no way to screen all possible antigens or predict which ones will work. To remove the guesswork, we need the ability to mimic the human immune system in vitro so one can identify which antigenic epitopes will elicit a competent immune response.
